  • The NOVELS page describes my recently published book, Carlotta's Daughter. If you enjoy naval period drama or would like to experience a glimpse of life in the navy after the war then this is the book for you.
    My second book - a thriller en-titled RED ICE - sees the characters embroiled in a cold-war incident aboard a submarine deep into the frozen arctic.
    My third manuscript - Mischief - unfinished to date, finds the (now experienced) Special Service men battling modern pirates in the South China Sea. Underwater fantasy based entirely on reality.

    • A LITTLE ABOUT ME

    I took up painting during service in the Royal Navy. Ships and boats feature largely in my work, which started with oil paintings of the ships and submarines in which I served. After selling mainly watercolours of the Teign estuary for a number of years I turned to writing. As with many people I thought the jottings of my early life could make a book. A writing course showed me how far I was off the mark - also I realised that the only life-stories standing half a chance in today's market are of personalities. So - my autobiography became a source of historical events and places, peopled with imaginary characters and following a fictional plot. The result is 'CARLOTTA'S DAUGHTER'. Despite my protestations, my family are convinced that much of the slightly questionable situations in which the main character finds himself must have happened to me. Maybe in my dreams.
